boneIO Black — from the electrical cabinet to a working home in a few steps, without programming.
Welcome to the boneIO Black documentation
boneIO Black is a DIN-rail controller that works as soon as it is powered — out of the box its inputs drive its outputs (for example IN01 → OUT01), even without a network. Everything else you set up in a web browser: no programming and no editing files.

From the box to a working controller
- Mount and power it. DIN rail, 24 V DC — preferably from a UPS or buffered power supply. Hardware installation: 32x10A · Cover · Cover Mix.
- Connect it to the network and open the panel. An Ethernet cable, then
https://<controller IP>:8443in a browser — Connect to your boneIO. - Go through the short wizard. An administrator account and a few questions about the controller — First-time setup.
- Name your inputs and outputs, assign rooms. In the panel's forms — Naming inputs, Areas.
- Connect Home Assistant. The controller announces its entities over MQTT — they appear in Home Assistant with no manual setup, grouped by room — Home Assistant connection.
From there you can add actions to buttons, covers, schedules and everything described in boneIO Black App.

What the app can do

Lights, sockets, covers
Outputs, output groups, time-based covers and venetian blinds with tilt, gates.
Buttons and sensors
Single, double and long press, reed switches, motion sensors, temperature, Modbus.
On its own, on time
Schedules at a clock time or with the sun, virtual switches, presence simulation.
More than relays
Alarm, irrigation, thermostat, energy counters, Node-RED, MQTT and Loxone.
Secure from the first start
The panel over HTTPS, accounts with roles, no default passwords, and a page that tells you what is left to fix.
Looks after itself
boneIO and whole-system updates from the panel, backups, diagnostics, recovery mode.
